About

Artist Bio

The Fair Remains is the musical moniker of Colorado-based singer-songwriter Josh Hamm, whose work carves its own path through the overlapping terrains of indie rock and Americana. At the heart of his songwriting lies a folk sensibility shaped by literary precision. Deftly blending emotional clarity with poetic ambiguity, The Fair Remains channels the introspective spirits of artists like John Prine, Elliott Smith, and Jeff Tweedy to craft a sound that feels at once rooted and restless.

In 2024, Josh released a debut alt-country/folk rock EP titled Hollowed Youth, which he remastered in 2025 for release under his newly-minted moniker, The Fair Remains. His latest single, "Empty Glass (All the Reasons)," explores themes of regret and ambivalence with acoustic arrangements as delicate as they are driving, paired with looming pedal steel (played by Aaron Fabbrini) and a vocal performance that is both raw and intimate.

Josh resides on the Colorado Front Range, where he is most often found studying philosophy, reading renaissance poetry, or writing and recording songs in his home studio.
